Do you have a list of places to see before you die? A lot of people create lists of things to do or see before they die. They call it their bucket list. If you are one of theses people who have compiled a list of things to do or go to before leaving this earth, here are some suggestions that you might want to add to that list.
There is a long list of places to visit in America before you die. This list includes some popular places that people never miss whenever they go to the U.S. Top on the list is Hollywood, considered to be the entertainment capital of the world. There are a number of popular places in to go to in Hollywood some of the most popular of which includes the Hollywood Walk of Fame, the Bates Motel, location for the movie Psycho and the Universal Studios. The list does not end there, you have to go there and check out for yourself. Another popular place that you can visit is the Space Needle found in Seattle, Washington. You can view fantastic sceneries from the observation deck on the top. Found in the northern part of California, the Redwood Natural Park where you can see centuries-old Sequoia trees, the tallest trees in the world. It also is said to one of the largest in terms of trunk diameter. Along with the trees, native flora and fauna are also part of the species being conserved in the park. In the early eighties it became a World Heritage site.
Another place you need to see in America before you die is the Grand Canyon National Park. It is found in Arizona and is considered to be one of the earliest parks in the United States. It became a national park in the early part of the 1900s and can also proudly boast as a World Heritage site since 1979. Another part of the list of beautiful national parks is the Yellowstone National Park found in Wyoming and partially covers some parts of Idaho and Montana. The parks most popular attraction is the Old Faithful geyser but the park is filled with magnificent examples of a well-preserved ecosystem. If you love nature then you should not miss going including this is your list.
The Mount Rushmore National Memorial in South Dakota should also be part of your list of places to see before you die. The head sculptures of four former US Presidents was sculpted by artist Gutzon Borglum and later on continued by his son Lincoln after his death.
Moving westward, you can pass by St. Louis, Missouri where the Gateway Arch can be found. It is said to be the highest monument in all of the United States. It is a structure that has come to symbolize St. Louis. It was designed through the joint efforts of Eero Saarinen and Hannskari Bandel. It was constructed in a span of two years from 1963-1965.
The Statue of Liberty is found in Liberty Island in New York and has been known to be an icon representing the United States. It was a gift from the people of France and was designed and created by French artist Frederic Bartholdi. Also found in New York, you can’t miss going to the Empire State building. For years it was the tallest building in the United States and was popularly seen in the 1933 movie King Kong.
Other places worthy of being part of the list include the official seat of the President, the White House found in Washington D.C. You can also include a short visit to the National Mall, the Independence Hall in Pennsylvania. In fact the U. S. is a wealth of places that could be visited in one’s lifetime.
